"Water Landing". I was collecting Petoskey stones the day I took this picture. I was the only one on the beach and had been there so long the seagulls realized I wasn't going to feed them, so they started ignoring me and just did their thing. I love this shot of one landing on the beach with its wings spread out so wide. Agatized Coral occurs when silica in the ocean water hardens, replacing the limy corals with a form of quartz mineral known as Agate, a variety of Chalcedony. This long fossilization process (20–30 million years) results in the formation of a "pseudomorph," meaning that one mineral has replaced another without having lost its original form.
