Youngsters will love reading their favorite fall book in this comfy reading area. Cut a door in a large appliance box. Paint the box orange so it resembles a pumpkin; then attach a large paper stem and vines to the top. Place soft pillows, a battery-operated camping lamp, and theme-related books in the box. What a relaxing place to look at books!

Determining Importance Featuring Animals Around the World - Common Core Aligned

This is a fun end of unit review activity to help students pull together all of the most important facts or details about a creature, person, place or thing they’ve been studying. This goes right along with our comprehension strategy of “determining importance”. I begin by reading them “The Important Book” by Margaret Wise Brown.
