The BUAV remembers three long-tailed macaques from Mauritius, known only as CM26, CM27 and CM28, who one year ago arrived at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics in Germany. A head chamber was surgically implanted in their skulls; they suffered bruising and bleeding and their wounds became infected with MRSA. Within three months they were dead.
