This lamp was inspired by an Art Deco era gate, seen in NYC at the Cooper-Hewitt museum. The gate had gears on the sides. This uses transmission gears and bearings, as well as timing gears to make the V8 element, which is bolted to a bracket and stands out in front of the main lamp about and inch and a half. It is removable and I've made 2 other pieces that can go on the bracket. Since the hubcap is a Chevy piece the base is designed as a Chevy emblem, from 1" thick Mahogany.
