Este sucedió en Madrid el 28 de Abril de 1699 el Motín de los Gatos o de Oropesa. en la Plaza Mayor de Madrid una mujer se quejó del precio tan alto del pan, preguntando cómo podría alimentar a su marido y sus hijos las voces se fueron multiplicando y cuentan que en aquel momento el corregidor que pasaba por allí, usando de toda su “diplomacia” le dijo a la mujer que “…mandara castrar a su marido para que no le diese más hijos”, estas delicadas palabras se produjo el motín.

Are you familiar with Douglas McArthur’s famous words: “I shall return”? McArthur actually DID return to fulfill that promise. After his return to Leyte, the Japanese garrison commander in Puerto Princesa, fearing a US landing, brutally killed majority of the remaining American prisoners of war who had been captured with the fall of Bataan and Corregidor in 1942. These men, all unarmed and helpless, were those who had been utilized as slave labor to build the Puerto Princesa airfield.
