Passe, Simon Van De. "Pocahontas." 1616. Pocahontas, the daughter of Chief Powhatan, was lured onto a British ship in the area of Jamestown, where she was held captive for over a year. She married British colonist John Rolfe, was dressed in English fashion and was baptized as a Christian. She has been unjustly portrayed in history as a supporter of the English invasion.
