‘Composition with Double Lines & Yellow’, 1932 Piet Mondrian. This is 1 of earliest of his 'tram-line' paintings. Before 1932 he had used single lines but he began pairing them to achieve a sense of optical movement. He also began to extend the colored areas over the edge of the canvas. In this painting, he created a perfect balance between the color & the horizontal & vertical lines, so that no one element dominated.
