Sometimes called sea lilies and found in their highest concentrations around Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia's Great Barrier Reef, they are echinoderms, a phylum that includes starfish, sea urchins and sea cucumbers. There about 600 species of feather star. Crinoid is their scientific name.
