Celtic Galicia: The bagpipe, which the Galicians call "gaita galega," ("Galician gaita" in Galician) is a staple in all of Galicia's fiestas. It's similar to the bagpipes found in Scotland Ireland, but w/ some subtle differences. The "drones" (which produce the sound) are different in type number to the British Irish, as are the ways in which the pipes are carried displayed. Galician "gaitas" have only 3 drones the colors patterns of the fabric reflect those of Celtic Galicia.
Like every year the festival of San Froilan are a must-see for thousands of Galicians who approach Lugo to enjoy the wide range for nine days festive city makes the reference of Galicia. Today, Sunday das Mozas, could attend a parade of traditional costumes by Galician Association Traxe do Galego de Santiago de Compostela. It was great to see those beautiful traditional costumes representing an important part of the Galician cultural essence.
