The Gorgons (Greek mythology) are warlike women with wings   -  The only known three are sisters, Medusa, Stheno and Euryale, the daughters of Ceto and Phorcys.  Their powers were both mental & physical, and they had the gift of healing.  The gaze of the Gorgon can turn any being who looks at them into stone, albeit for a brief moment. The snake-"hair" can bite and inject venom to half a meter away.
