In this issue in the Strategy series, a+t extends its field of research to the system of tactics. While the first two issues in the series involved approaching the project through the strategies identified in it, Strategy and Tactics in Public Space aims to define the strategy in relation to the tactics.
a+t magazine inaugurates the WORKFORCE series, dedicated to the design of workspaces. WORKFORCE A Better Place to Work (a+t 43) is the first volume of the series and reflects, through 25 projects, the path leading from the wild waters of the google-offices towards the calmer waters of the quiet office where employees return to adulthood.
The latest issue of a+t magazine, Domestic Actions 2, rounds off the Reclaim series, which arose from an environmental sense of reclaiming land, objects, infrastructures and materials. This new volume, on refurbishing dwellings, analyzes actions carried out on both private dwellings and collective housing.
STRATEGY PUBLIC, this double issue of a+t magazine, inaugurates the STRATEGY Series, dedicated to the study of project strategies. More than 20 works of urban landscaping, all built, are analysed regarding the strategies identified in each one. This issue initiates a new way of approaching the project, in which the method is as visible as the result.
a+t 31. HYBRIDS I is the first issue of the new a+t series related to hybrid buildings. It is a visual analysis of the programs of these complex buildings and its insertion in the territory. The analysis that a+t does on vertical hybrid buildings is based on the identification and comparison of three concepts on a selection of 12 prototype projects: programme, section and land use.
The number 37 of a+t magazine, entitled STRATEGY SPACE. Landscape Urbanism Strategies, is the second issue of the STRATEGY series. 12 works of urban landscaping, all built, are analyzed regarding the strategies identified in each one. The Strategy series initiates a new way of approaching the project, in which the method is as visible as the result.
How do architects deal with the design process? What inspires them? Design Techniques looks at different approaches to the creative moment. The architects themselves reveal their modus operandi, explain how they tackle the project and discuss motivation, devices, influences, justifications, effects and the origins of their design techniques. a+t magazine and Harvard GSD initiate the SOLID series, Harvard Symposia on Architecture. Design Techniques is the first volume in the series.
Reclaim - Domestic Actions contains 54 actions that strip and boil down the home to its most basic roots. They have lightened the load, made up for previous mistakes and taken away the esthetic preconceptions that until now had put strain on these type of interventions.
Issue Reclaim - Remediate Reuse Recycle interprets and compares actions extracted from the projects and classifies them into three Re- processes: Remediate: acting on the territory; Reuse: acting on the building; Recycle: acting on the material.
